Lets have a photoshoot for instagram...?

Friday, December 25, 2015

Last Thursday, my cousin and I decided to head out to Setia City Mall because we were bored. And we found the perfect OOTD spot! LOL. There's like a greenery garden thing outside one of the entrance of Setia City Mall. So we went there to explore. And here are a few shots that we got!

Here's my OOTD!
Top - ASOS
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - American Apparel
Handbag - LV

Lol and that's me casually walking....
"Can you take a picture of me from the back while I pretend I'm walking?"

This picture has a funny story behind it! So you know how girls like to take 'candid' shots of them laughing? Well we wanted one of those. But the thing is, it was just the two of us. We saw a couple of people near by who was having sort of a proper photoshoot, with outfit change and a professional camera. So we thought of asking one of them to help us out while they were taking a break. I think they noticed us sitting there like weirdos, observing them. Anyway we chickened out. But luckily, there was a girl not from that group near by and we asked her to take our picture. But the awkward part is, she was waiting for us to pose! So we had to tell her that we wanted a fake candid shot! LOL.

That's me...making sure my back fat and love handles weren't showing.

And I was just sitting there...contemplating life.

And we didn't want to seem too weird so we got a normal shot too.

Then we went in and had breakfast for lunch. I had that. I guess that's it. We walked around and went home after. The end :p

birthday

Happy birthday to.....

Monday, December 21, 2015

So a week ago was my boyfriend's birthday! I took him to Pince & Pints for his birthday. Mainly
because I've been wanting to try it. It was actually so good!! A lot of people who has been to London
would compare it to Burger & Lobster. Well to me, it tastes just as good. But then again, I am not a good food critique. We ordered grilled lobster and chilli lobster.
So the funny thing is, this was meant to be a surprise. We've (me, mostly) been wanting to go here for about a while. But I decided that I could surprise him on his birthday eve, since his birthday was on Monday. But instead, a few days before, he suggested another seafood place. Then I was like but I already have a place planned for you! Then he asked where and I said Pince & Pints! Then he liked the idea too so it didn't end up being a surprise.

Everything on their menu was RM 158. The good thing is they use one whole lobster for each dish so you will always get a whole lobster no matter what you order. And also, I never know how do people take such a nice picture of their food for instagram? Look at my failed attempt. Maybe because I'm too shy to actually stand up to snap a picture.

Also, they don't have any dessert but I told one of the workers that it was my boyfriend's birthday. So they sang and gave him 3 scoops of ice cream with a magic candle! It was hilarious!

And then there's me haha. Can't wait to come back for more!

quick update

Wednesday, December 09, 2015

Hello! Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't done anything much lately. For the past two weeks, I basically went to KL for both weekends, and I also had a fever on the first week. I had a bad pharyngitis and fever and I was vomiting non stop. I even managed to lose weight!!

But basically that weekend, me and my boyfriend went to KL because we had one of his friend's birthday celebration at Grand Hyatt. I had chicken rice, of course. And before that we watched Frankenstein at Pavilion.

And last week, I finally went to Rimba & Rusa! It was alright. Quite pricey though for that kind of place. But the food wasn't too bad.

And I've also been loving my make up! I got a new foundation. Might do a review on it soon. And also, I got a job!!! That's right! Well I got a place to do my chambering. I'll consider it as a job. So yeah. I won't start until February! And I also went to a casting. Let's hope I'll get it. Till then!

Malam terang bulan

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

Hey guys! Have you ever wondered where our national anthem, Negaraku came from? Well, last weekend, I was lucky enough to score tickets to watch the musical/orchestra called Malam Terang Bulan held in Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.

It was about our national anthem! I never knew the background of it and how it became our national anthem until I watched the musical. I don't want to spoil too much but lets just say it's actually a french song! The melody was originally written by Pierre Jean de Beranger. Cool right? So here are a few pictures from the play.

We weren't allowed to take pictures in during the musical so there weren't a lot of pictures. But let me tell you, the orchestra, singing and everything in fact was so good! They had great performers such as Dayang Nurfaizah and others. I've always loved going to orchestras since I was little because I took piano and violin lessons. And I wish I was good enough to play in the orchestra. Unfortunately, I was a lazy little kid! LOL.

trekking at FRIM

Monday, November 16, 2015

So last weekend, I went to FRIM with a couple of friends to go trekking. It was my first time there. We left around 8 from Shah Alam. I don't really know what was the fee to get it because we parked inside and it was about RM7 altogether. Or you can park outside for free. We took a shorter trail and the canopy walk was closed.

It was fun though. You could also rent a bike there or bring your own. I think we got on the Bukit Bujan trail if I'm not mistaken.

Then, we left and had banana leaf rice after. LOL how healthy are we....

Avani Sepang Goldcoast

Saturday, November 07, 2015

Hey guys! So I just got back from my short vacation, or 'staycation' at Avani Sepang Goldcoast! We initially wanted to go abroad but we opted for a local holiday instead. And I must say, I did not regret that decision.

Me and a couple of friends were there for a 3 days 2 nights trip. It took about an hour and a half to get there from Shah Alam.

This is the main lobby.

And the bicycle where guests could rent. Alternatively, there will also be buggies going from the lobby to the pool area so you can just wait for the buggy if you want to stop by your room.

Those are the villas and rooms. We took the deluxe and it costed about RM 600 per night.

They also have an extreme park right before the entrance where they have ATVs, go karts and paint ball.

Those are the free activities where guests could participate. We didn't expect it to be free so we did not bring any suitable attire.

Our morning view! This was around 6.45 am.

They also have an infinity pool with a good view.

And that's it! I would suggest to bring lots of snacks prior to coming here so you don't have to leave the place to get snacks. Their food was delicious though. Their breakfast spread had a lot of variety. Plus their pizza was amazing!

Also, their TV has built in movies so there were a ton of variety of movies to watch. A perfect place for a staycation!

November? Selfish drivers and foodgasm

Monday, November 02, 2015

Can we talk about how it's already November? How did that even happen??

So yesterday, Foodgasm event was on in PJ. I really wanted to go but the traffic was insane! I was from Mont Kiara because my boyfriend wanted a haircut. We went to 76 Style. Can we talk about how cute their halloween decoration is?

I waited for about an hour and had McD's while waiting because I was starving! Anyway, his appointment was at 12 so we finished around 1 and headed to PJ. We were from Federal Highway and the traffic wasn't so bad but the moment we got into PJ, it was a complete standstill! We only managed to move about 500m/hour. So we decided to bail. I felt bad cause a few of our friends were already there since they were there from 10.30.

I'm glad I didn't go though. Apparently I didn't miss out on much. It was really muddy due to the rain the night before and the queue was insanely long. Like some stalls even ran out of food while people were queuing. And the food wasn't that great too, according to my friends.

There were a lot of bad reviews on their instagram but i don't know. I wasn't there to judge. I guess the organisers could have been more organised with the parking system and since it's monsoon season, they shouldn't have done it in a field.

So we fled and went to tropicana city mall instead cause we were so hungry! We had pasta zanmai then we headed to Artisan PJ to meet with our other friend who also bailed. Then our friends from the food fest joined us.

For dinner, we went to Murni SS2. I don't know what was wrong with Malaysian drivers yesterday but there sure were lots of stupid, inconsiderate drivers! Speaking of drivers, most of the people were parking by the road side on both sides, which caused the massive traffic for Foodgasm! Me and my boyfriend were looking for a parking spot for almost an hour at ss2! Wanna know why? We already found a parking spot right in front of Murni. So he already signalled and wanted to side park. While he was going forward to side park, an idiot of a guy wouldn't give him space so there was no way to reverse! And because of that, we had to go a couple more rounds just to look for a parking spot and we ended up parking outside of the shoplift areas. Plus, it was raining! So we had to walk quite a distance.

But oh well. That was how my Sunday went. Bye!

Cat/Hawaiian birthday

Monday, November 02, 2015

Just recently, on Saturday, me and a couple of friends celebrated my friend, Hanna's birthday at Thyme Out! Thyme Out is a mexican food restaurant that started with a food truck at ss 15. The food was good! I had a burrito bowl and churros.

Birthday girl with her Hawaiian flower thing and birthday antenna thing LOL.

The churros was quite good! Unfortunately I'm allergic to chocolate so I was sneezing after that but quite worth the sneeze sesh.

The burrito bowl! I've always wanted to try it. I always watch bloggers on youtube, eating Chipotle's burrito bowl so I've always wondered what's it like. It was really good!

We had a good time altogether. Till then!

bowling and cinnamon rolls

Sunday, October 25, 2015

Hey guys! Yesterday, I had a fun bowling date with my boyfriend! So he came over to my place for lunch then we headed to OU for a bowling game. I won!

I got one strike and a spare! That's as good as it gets for me, sadly. But i still managed to win! Then we had sushi for dinner. Oh! I also had cinnabon before bowling because I was hungry.

So back when I was doing my degree in Cardiff, the closest Cinnabon they had was in London. They do have delivery though all the way to Cardiff. BUT the delivery costs more than the cinnamon rolls! So I pretty much could only get it when I'm in London unless I was really desperate. But funny though how I've been back for over a year and this was my first time having it when I could easily get it. But that's life. You only appreciate things more once you can't have it. So I guess that's it. Will blog more soon!

May the job hunting begin

Friday, October 23, 2015

Hello guys. Sorry for the lack of updates. I know I initially intended for this blog to be a "fashion an lifestyle" blog but I haven't been doing anything much lately. Ever since I got my results, my mum has been asking me about what my career/life plan is.

The thing is, I know I want to be a lawyer. But here's the thing. I'm an overseas graduate. I graduated from Cardiff Uni a year ago and I hold a law degree. In order to be a practicing lawyer in Malaysia IF you graduate from overseas or if you attend an unrecognised (by the legal professional qualifying board) local university, you'll have to sit for your CLP to be able to practice here.

As can be seen in my last post, it's really hard to pass and the passing rate is really low. But I already got through that. So now, I just have to apply to any law firm for me to be a chamber student for 9 months. Lets think of it as some sort of practical. Only then I'd be called to the bar.

So for the past couple of days, I have been doing research on where I want to work. I think I am going to try to apply to a few big firms and see how my luck goes. So that's basically what I've been doing.

But yesterday, I went out with my mum to watch The Walk at One City Mall. It was my first time there and the cinema was literally empty. It was just me and my mum and a random dude. The seats were comfy too! The movie was alright. I'd give it a 3.8/5. My mum is afraid of heights so she was practically squeamish half the time! I honestly can't believe that it's based on a true story! To think that someone actually walked across the Word Trade Centre on just a wire is beyond me.

I guess that's it for today. I'll try to post something more interesting soon!

certificate in legal examination

CLP examination 2015

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Hi guys! So a little update. Yesterday, LPQB announced that they will release our CLP results tomorrow, meaning today at 8.30 am. So we could just sign in the portal to check our results. I honestly didn't know what to feel. I was nervous at first, and scared. So I woke up this morning at 8.30 and...I PASSED MY CLP AT ONE GO!!

I'm not sure what's the passing rate for this year but through out a couple of years, it has only been about 20-30%. And CLP is indeed one of the toughest examination in the world. And I never thought I would be able to pass it at one try! Alhamdulillah, I am beyond grateful for that. So I guess that is it. I'll update more once I found out more about it. Till then.

sungai chilling

Chlling at Sungai Chiling?

Monday, October 19, 2015

Sorry for the multiple posts in one day guys. But I thought I'd blog about it today before I forget.

Anyway, last Sunday, me and a couple of friends decided to go to Sungai Chiling. We met up at Bukit Jelutong and left around 8.45 am. It took us about an hour and a half or so to get there. We took a pit stop along the way because we saw a nice scenery.

To be honest I have no idea what that place is called so yeah. But you'll most likely pass it when you're on the way there.

So we parked a little bit far away as there was already many people. We got into the entrance and we have to register and declare if we have any food or etc as they will charge us BUT we can get our deposit back at the end of the trip if we keep the plastics and wrappers etc. I honestly think this is a good idea.

But first thing's first. I think I should list down on what you should bring/wear and such:
  • insect repellant
  • mineral water/drinks
  • food
  • money (for the entrance fee and the food and drinks you want to bring in)
  • dry bag or cover your stuff with plastic in your bag because it will get wet!
  • any shoe with a proper grip (be careful if you decide to wear slippers because you might lose it when you're crossing the river)
  • dry clothes for you to change afterwards
  • towel (IF you want to shower but the toilet is dirty)
  • plastic bags and newspaper (if you don't want to shower, you can put the plastic bags on top of your seat so it won't get wet)
So there are about 6 river crossings altogether. I'm about 151 cm and the deepest it would get was about my armpit level, and that is towards the end. It wasn't that hard to cross the rivers. You just have to be careful because the big rocks in the river can be slippery. The water current wasn't THAT strong on the day that I went.

It took us about an hour to reach the waterfall. But the hike to the waterfall wasn't that hard. Trust me, I'm pretty unfit.

We reached the waterfall around lunch time and it was quite crowded. It's probably better if you  reach there earlier. So we ate and chill and then we headed back out.

The hike back was probably easier. And it's a good thing we didn't stayed there longer because it started raining as soon as were done with all the river crossings. I wouldn't suggest to cross the river when it's raining. The water current might be too strong.

So once we reach the entrance, we had to sign out and claim our deposit. There is a place for you to shower there but lets just say it isn't the cleanest....so we just decided to wrap ourselves in our towel on our drive back. And I guess that's it!
