bowling and cinnamon rolls

Sunday, October 25, 2015

Hey guys! Yesterday, I had a fun bowling date with my boyfriend! So he came over to my place for lunch then we headed to OU for a bowling game. I won!

I got one strike and a spare! That's as good as it gets for me, sadly. But i still managed to win! Then we had sushi for dinner. Oh! I also had cinnabon before bowling because I was hungry.

So back when I was doing my degree in Cardiff, the closest Cinnabon they had was in London. They do have delivery though all the way to Cardiff. BUT the delivery costs more than the cinnamon rolls! So I pretty much could only get it when I'm in London unless I was really desperate. But funny though how I've been back for over a year and this was my first time having it when I could easily get it. But that's life. You only appreciate things more once you can't have it. So I guess that's it. Will blog more soon!

May the job hunting begin

Friday, October 23, 2015

Hello guys. Sorry for the lack of updates. I know I initially intended for this blog to be a "fashion an lifestyle" blog but I haven't been doing anything much lately. Ever since I got my results, my mum has been asking me about what my career/life plan is.

The thing is, I know I want to be a lawyer. But here's the thing. I'm an overseas graduate. I graduated from Cardiff Uni a year ago and I hold a law degree. In order to be a practicing lawyer in Malaysia IF you graduate from overseas or if you attend an unrecognised (by the legal professional qualifying board) local university, you'll have to sit for your CLP to be able to practice here.

As can be seen in my last post, it's really hard to pass and the passing rate is really low. But I already got through that. So now, I just have to apply to any law firm for me to be a chamber student for 9 months. Lets think of it as some sort of practical. Only then I'd be called to the bar.

So for the past couple of days, I have been doing research on where I want to work. I think I am going to try to apply to a few big firms and see how my luck goes. So that's basically what I've been doing.

But yesterday, I went out with my mum to watch The Walk at One City Mall. It was my first time there and the cinema was literally empty. It was just me and my mum and a random dude. The seats were comfy too! The movie was alright. I'd give it a 3.8/5. My mum is afraid of heights so she was practically squeamish half the time! I honestly can't believe that it's based on a true story! To think that someone actually walked across the Word Trade Centre on just a wire is beyond me.

I guess that's it for today. I'll try to post something more interesting soon!

certificate in legal examination

CLP examination 2015

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Hi guys! So a little update. Yesterday, LPQB announced that they will release our CLP results tomorrow, meaning today at 8.30 am. So we could just sign in the portal to check our results. I honestly didn't know what to feel. I was nervous at first, and scared. So I woke up this morning at 8.30 and...I PASSED MY CLP AT ONE GO!!

I'm not sure what's the passing rate for this year but through out a couple of years, it has only been about 20-30%. And CLP is indeed one of the toughest examination in the world. And I never thought I would be able to pass it at one try! Alhamdulillah, I am beyond grateful for that. So I guess that is it. I'll update more once I found out more about it. Till then.

sungai chilling

Chlling at Sungai Chiling?

Monday, October 19, 2015

Sorry for the multiple posts in one day guys. But I thought I'd blog about it today before I forget.

Anyway, last Sunday, me and a couple of friends decided to go to Sungai Chiling. We met up at Bukit Jelutong and left around 8.45 am. It took us about an hour and a half or so to get there. We took a pit stop along the way because we saw a nice scenery.

To be honest I have no idea what that place is called so yeah. But you'll most likely pass it when you're on the way there.

So we parked a little bit far away as there was already many people. We got into the entrance and we have to register and declare if we have any food or etc as they will charge us BUT we can get our deposit back at the end of the trip if we keep the plastics and wrappers etc. I honestly think this is a good idea.

But first thing's first. I think I should list down on what you should bring/wear and such:
  • insect repellant
  • mineral water/drinks
  • food
  • money (for the entrance fee and the food and drinks you want to bring in)
  • dry bag or cover your stuff with plastic in your bag because it will get wet!
  • any shoe with a proper grip (be careful if you decide to wear slippers because you might lose it when you're crossing the river)
  • dry clothes for you to change afterwards
  • towel (IF you want to shower but the toilet is dirty)
  • plastic bags and newspaper (if you don't want to shower, you can put the plastic bags on top of your seat so it won't get wet)
So there are about 6 river crossings altogether. I'm about 151 cm and the deepest it would get was about my armpit level, and that is towards the end. It wasn't that hard to cross the rivers. You just have to be careful because the big rocks in the river can be slippery. The water current wasn't THAT strong on the day that I went.

It took us about an hour to reach the waterfall. But the hike to the waterfall wasn't that hard. Trust me, I'm pretty unfit.

We reached the waterfall around lunch time and it was quite crowded. It's probably better if you  reach there earlier. So we ate and chill and then we headed back out.

The hike back was probably easier. And it's a good thing we didn't stayed there longer because it started raining as soon as were done with all the river crossings. I wouldn't suggest to cross the river when it's raining. The water current might be too strong.

So once we reach the entrance, we had to sign out and claim our deposit. There is a place for you to shower there but lets just say it isn't the cleanest....so we just decided to wrap ourselves in our towel on our drive back. And I guess that's it!

Dior Tea Party?

Monday, October 19, 2015

Hi guys! Last Saturday, I went to a Dior event in Starhill where they showed their latest collection. I was a so real tea party and a very casual one. It started around 3. They had a presentation and a special guest by a Malaysian fashion blogger, Emma Shazleen.

What I'm wearing:
jumpsuit - Miss Selfridge
bag - Chanel (mum's)

We didn't get a lot of pictures because the lighting was quite bad and we just had our iPhones. Not gonna lie, their refreshments were good. I loved the churros and the macarons. So we were there for about an hour or two. Then we headed for late lunch/early dinner at Shook, Starhill.

We had pepperoni pizza and seafood pesto pizza. It was my first time eating there and the pizza was quite good. They had all types of food, from Japanese to Italian though it was quite pricey.

Oh I forgot to mention that one of my friend from the first picture is from Brunei and she came to KL for a short visit. So the next day we went to Publika to kill some time before she has to leave. So last summer, we went to Italy and bought a rayban...and we took this picture:

But I guess you could say we got an upgrade?

Yeah...we tried to recreate the photo with our Dior So Real instead. And I guess that's it for this post. Talk to you guys soon!
